The Census is Your Landing Pad

Just as your patients are at the heart of your practice, your census is the center of your pMDsoft workflow. No matter what you do, you always return here afterwards, so you never feel lost or confused. All of the information that you need is at your fingertips and you can always find the patient you're looking for.

Your census is organized the way you want to see it. You have the choice to sort your patients by location and room for rounding, or by name. It's easy to view only the patients at a particular location (as in the screenshot), or who are being seen by a specific provider. Thanks to the four-directional trackwheel, scrolling in the BlackBerry is incredibly fast... but even that's not easy enough: if you have a patient in mind, you can just type the patient's name to search with instant results! Look how much information is here: without leaving the census, you can tell when a patient was last seen, which provider in your practice is responsible for the patient, where the patient is located, and even a preview of the patient's note! Just a flick of the trackwheel reveals the first line of the note, so the most critical information is right in front of you (as it is for Kermit in the screenshot above).

It's Easy to Create a Visit

The visits that you enter are the essence of charge capture. That's why entering charges in pMDsoft is as intuitive as breathing and as fast as we can make it. Finding referrals and ICD/CPT codes is a snap, and you don't have to re-enter the same information every time you revisit a patient.

As you can see, the Create Visit screen is simple, but we think that's a good thing. And don't let appearances deceive you: there's a lot of power here. For example, if you just start typing into any of these fields, pMDsoft will do the right thing: you'll grab a referral from your list by first or last name, or search the entire name of a diagnosis or procedure as you type. You can type or scroll to choose the visit date. With the full QWERTY keypad, typing in that visit note is a breeze - some users reach 50-60 words per minute! You can see the diagnoses and procedures that you've already added, so it's easy to review them and delete the ones that you don't want with a single click, and you can even adjust their ordering while you're choosing them.

Best of all, because BlackBerries are built for wireless connectivity, there's virtually no lag between when you enter the visit and when it's ready for review.

Auto-Sync So You Don't Have To

When we talk about auto-sync, we aren't saying the things you've heard before: "it's a Web site so you don't need to sync" or "you just plug it into your computer" or even "click a button and it will sync wirelessly". We've learned that it's better if your changes are uploaded to the server automatically as soon as you're in an area with network coverage. Similarly, if your practice's updates are downloaded automatically in the background while you work, you never have to worry whether you have the latest information. You can tell at a glance if a patient has already been seen today, or if critical and time-sensitive information such as "do not resuscitate" has been added to the patient's note.

Thanks to the BlackBerry's excellent battery life and our revolutionary auto-sync algorithm, you won't have to worry about running out of power while making rounds. The robust sync protocol means you'll never worry about losing a charge, even if a phone call or connection outage happens while pMDsoft is synchronizing. Never Enter the Same Patient Twice (or Ever)

If your practice has seen a patient before, you shouldn't have to re-enter the demographic information. That seems like common sense, but pMDsoft goes above and beyond to save you time on data entry and prevent duplication errors that could otherwise happen if two providers see the same patient on the same day.

Your practice's complete patient list is available on the BlackBerry everywhere you go, so you're never left guessing what happened the last time a patient was seen. Better yet, our enterprise-grade HL7 system can sync patients directly to your Blackberry from other software such as hospital information systems, EMRs and practice management suites, so this list can stay up to date automatically.

This same list is used to detect potential duplicates dynamically as you enter a new patient. It's a safety net that will keep your practice's patient records clean - and by using the existing patient instead of entering a new one, you benefit from the patient's note and visit history, which are also stored on the BlackBerry. That makes entering the new visit even faster!

Stay Informed as You Round

pMDsoft makes a great rounding tool because you always have your patients' information and history with you, and when you have wireless coverage, it's up-to-the-minute. Editing that information is a snap - start entering a patient's primary care physician (first or last name), location, or rounding provider and as you type, you'll see a list of matches.

You can jump right to the patient's note and visit history, so you won't miss crucial medical information or a rich snapshot of the care that the patient has received from your practice. The BlackBerry is made for typing quickly and accurately, so it's easy to add information to the note.
